Boris Paternu and France Pibernik – Slovene literary historians

General activities which were used as main guidelines on project:

In this project we want to look into submisson of two important critics of present time - Boris Paternu and France Pibernik. They are coming from our region and they used to be our students.  They influenced with their work strongly to slovene literary history and they are very important part of Slovene cultural heritage.

Boris Paternu and France Pibernik Kranj continued study of Slovene language on Philosophical faculty in Ljubljana after they completed Gymnasium Kranj. They become very well known slovene literary historians. We and our students will try to research and analize their creative opus. As conclusion of our project we also plan to interview them and record that conversation. We expect will got all informations about their work, which are not available in existent literature.

So, we decided to look into Paternu and Pibernik for many reasons. The main reason is, that both were students in our school and the second reason is the importance of their work on modern Slovene literature. France Pibernik was also a great teacher in Gimnazija Kranj for several years and Boris Paternu is still lecturing  on Philosophical faculty in Ljubljana.
Boris Paternu's life opus was engaged in France Prešeren, our greatest Slovene poet, who was closely connected  to Kranj   as well with other contemporary creators and literary periods.
France Pibernik is also a poet and he issued many poetic collections. He was and still writing concerning authors who where in communist times forbidden and unspoken (France Balantič and Karel Mauser). Very important is also his correspondence with Slovene poets, writers  and dramatists.

So, a lot of interesting work is waiting for our students and we are all looking forward to that.
